Front door sill and floor (left).

(1961 2CV AZU)

The usual rust spot

After removing the floor and sill. Use masking tape to cut straight and cut on the correct side of the tape. The saw blade thickness could mess up your measurements.

The sedan sill is a little higher and the placement of the jack is different.

Initial fitting.

Floor fitting. Bolt it down to the chassis to make sure everything will be align once you are done.

Making sure the door aligns properly.

You can see the difference in eight. The replacement part, which was for a sedan, goes slightly lower than the original sill. The parts are sand blasted and tacked for alignment.

I have punched holes on the floor for spot welding.

After sand blasting.

I made holes on the floor board to spot weld. The metal is prepped and painted with weldable primer.

My job is done. The owner will take care later of the difference between the new sill and the original one.

Done!
